Minji Chang is a Korean American actor, producer, writer, & podcast host based in Los Angeles. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Minji had her sights set on a career in medicine and public policy before switching gears to pursue the creative arts and entertainment industry. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Public Health, and worked in preventing violence against women and children at Prevention Institute in Oakland, CA for several years before working in tech in San Francisco.
She then volunteered as a founding director of the Bay Area chapter of Kollaboration - a non-profit organization focused on discovering, connecting, and elevating Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) artists. She moved on to become the Global Executive Director for Kollaboration, presiding over all the national and Canada chapters, national programming, artist community and in 2015 launched the annual EMPOWER Creative Leadership Conference to develop AAPI creative professionals.
Through Kollaboration, Minji has worked with major studios and organizations including Netflix, HBO, NBCUniversal, Sony, Warner Bros, The Walt Disney Company, and the White House. She stepped down from the Executive Director role in 2018 to focus on her creative endeavors as an actor and filmmaker, and now presides on the Board of Directors. She continues to be an active leader advocating for diversity, inclusion, and AAPI representation in media, speaking in professional, university and digital spaces. She co-produces the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience which highlights Asian films and filmmakers in festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, and Toronto Film Festivals.
Minji is deeply passionate about storytelling, social justice, and empowering marginalized voices. She hosts a weekly podcast called First Of All, featuring raw conversations on career, relationships, mental health, and pop culture. She is currently producing her first feature documentary film ASHIMA and developing narrative content for film, tv, and audio.
As a theater-trained actor, Minji has acted in several short films, viral comedy sketches, and her first independent feature in 2019. She is the voice of Songbird in the 2023 released Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion, playing opposite Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves. She is an avid commercial voice actor, working with major brands such as Google, Samsung, Uber, Sephora, Spotify, SanDisk, Headspace, Kelloggs, Hefty, Marriott, Fabletics, and many more.
